I admit my memory is not the greatest that there is and by the time I learn a new scale it always seems like I just pushed one I had already learned out of my head to make room... So here are the questions that i have. I need some kind of book that has all the scales listed with maybe alternate fingerings for some of the notes(I know all the fingerings on most charts but I know there are more hiding from me). Also I had a band instructor attempt to explain the "circle/cycle of 5ths"(?) but as I said above....I..... uhhh....Forgot how the stupid thing works so could you also recommend a book that explains that aswell?

I don't know of a good reference for scales with alternate fingerings but here are a couple of books that might be helpful and are generally available both in stores and on-line.

Rubank Elementary Method for Saxophone - Major and Minor scale reference in back of book.

Jamey Aebersold: Volume 24 - Major and Minor. Part of the "Learn to Improvise Jazz" series but it has a wealth of information and all Major and Dorian Minor scales and chord progressions with recommended practice strategies. It also has the Circle / Cycle of Fifths (Fourths) explained.
