umm, bit of deja vu here guys - see a similar topic in the Buescher thread - there was a long and entertaining discussion of this on the old board ...

I think the Germans wouls day 'kilevurt' or 'kilevairt' - mine is too rusty. My German, not my JK!

At least, unlike the French, Mr Bush, they probably have a word for 'entrepreneur'.

LOL. Yeah. Everybody knows München is pronounded Munich and Köln is pronounced Cologne! Crazy Germans can't even get their own language right.
By the way, Chris (Christian?), "th" in English is not "th" auf Deutsch. Therefore: "kylewert"...nicht wahr?

Somewhat related question - is "couf" pronounced "cuff" or "coof" or something else?

I got it from the horse's mouth, having been fortunate enough to visit with Herb Couf and others at Armstrong in Elkhart many years ago. He pronounced his name "Cuff" and the instrument manufacturer as "Kyle-worth" so that's good enough for me. But even if someone wants to say Coof and Keel-wart, they're still great axes.
