Ok, so I got my B&S Medusa sandblasted version from Dave Kessler... It's a piece of art! I can't take my eyes of it, the look, the color, the engraving, all beautiful. The sound is huge, warm, centered and I have no problem at all from low Bb to altissimo C. The stock mpc is a Vandoren, it produce a somewhat classical sound to it and is very easy to play. I put on my Selmer C* short shank and it rocked!

I brought the Medusa to a local store nearby and played test with a Selmer Series III limited edition (silver sandblasted, laq. keys, solid silver neck) and a Cannonball Big Bell. Both of them are good but non of them even come close to the Medusa, sound wise and keywork, look, etc... Yes the Series III limited edition is more than double the price of the Medusa.

The stock case is a shaped type, very light, very secure and tought, the only drawback is that there is no room for any other accessories, so I got myself a bag to store some reeds, mpcs, and my wireless mic inside the bell.

I want to thank you Dave for the great recommendation, fast service (ordered Friday's afternoon, shipped out Saturday, and received by morning of Sunday! Althought I changed the shipping method, but I never thought that I will receive the sax by Sunday's morning.) We exchanged so many emails and phone call, he always there to help me and keep me up-to-date with any information he received... Thank you Dave!

For now I'm just need some thing to measure the Medusa neck's diameter size accurately to millimeter so that I can try the Greece wooden neck, but I don't have any tool now! Would you recomm. anything or any solution for this?

Just curious, why do you want to get another neck? Didn't you get 3 necks with the Medusa?

I chose the Sandblasted finish, which came with only 1 neck, but with the specially shaped case. I want to try the Wooden neck since I heard some very postitive comment about them.

Congrats on your new B & S. Although I have WAY too many horns already, my next horn purchase will likely be a B & S Medusa Tenor from Dave Kessler. The Medusa's sound reminds me of some of my favorite Vintage horns in my collection, and I have heard nothing but praise for Dave Kessler, so I plan to give him a shot too.
