I'm currently having a vintage circa ~1930 Cabart clarinet overhauled, and while I do have the original mouthpiece, I'm interested in purchasing a new mouthpiece. Since I play Morgan pieces on tenor, I was considering the Morgan RM28. Does anyone have insights to how this piece plays on vintage instruments, especially in regard to intonation?

Thanks,

David

DavidM: I play an old Meyer 66 clarinet piece (and have two Vandoren modern pieces, B45 and 5JB) in reserve. All play well on all of my clarinets, new (and vintage Alberts). A good friend of mine plays a Buffet Albert System made in 1887 (yes, eighteen eighty seven) and he uses a new Morgan mouthpiece. I suspect the new/vintage thing is of little concern as long as you like the mouthpiece you are playing. DAVE
