When I first got the horn I was playing a Guardala Crescent on it with the silver neck and liked the sound. After some time, however, I just didn't feel like I was filling up the horn and getting a good response in the middle. I also found the sound a little too thin for my taste up high. I love this horn but believe that there must be a better set-up to try. Your experiences are appreciated. Thanks. :)

I'll tell you same as everyone else: get your hands on every possible mouthpiece/lig combo you can, and try them all out, see what you like best, and use that.
It really depends on what kind of sound you're looking for, what style of music you play, who you might be attempting to imitate, etc etc.
Try a hand finished piece by Jo Gerber or Mojobari, I've seen, heard, and played their examples before. Beautiful craftsmanship that really brings out the best in a piece.
From my experience, Meyers and JJ have worked well on the CB tenor. I also enjoyed a peculiar metal brand, although honestly I can't remember a thing about it, just an irregularly shaped chamber.
Hope this helped? Not sure, but keep blowin...

I have a couple of Ralph Morgan mouthpieces I really like on my CB BBGS tenor - a Morgan 3C "classical" mouthpiece, and a Morgan 6EL, one of the "Excalibur" line. I think they both have a very full sound on the CB.

The best advice is probably to try everything you can get your hands on. I live right in the heart of cannonball country (SLC, UT) and have played tons of different ones. I can give you two bits about a mouthpiece, one that a friend of mine plays on the black CBBB, A Metal Yanigasawa, I also, naturally, like the sound I get with my mouthpiece, an Ernie Northway--not the one that comes with the newer cannonball horns, but the customized version that sells for nearly 400 bucks (I got mine 8 years ago for about half that, but popularity will do that to something hand made) Ernie works out of SLC at a music store called Summerhays if you are interested in contacting him.
Good luck!! it seems like the search never ends!
