It looks like Roberto's is the only Borgani dealer in the U.S. The list price for a new Borgani tenor on Roberto's website is about $5000. The U.K. dealer appears to be selling them for 2600-2700 pounds. This converts to nearly $2000 less than the Roberto's price. What's up? Is Roberto selling them for much less than the price listed on his website?

I goofed. I should have written "the U.K. dealer appears to be selling them for 2600-2700 euros." Not pounds.

That's what happens when there is no competition. I would try to get one from a UK dealer.

That must be 2700 pounds. I don't think you can get a Borgani anywhere (including Macerata, Italy where they are made) for 2700 Euros. I bought my Borgani tenor from Roberto's 3 years ago when the prices were much more competitive with Selmer. No doubt the dollar/euro exchange rate has taken its toll, but I don't know if that is the whole story. I think it is a shame that many people will never discover what a truly remarkable horn it is because of the current pricing.

I agree. I would love to try one, but there's no way I'm shelling out $5000 for a tenor. That's not much less than what I paid for my JK tenor and soprano together.

Just got back from Roberto's and played the alto. Sweet! I'm saving my money.
I have two Borgani tenors, Jubilee models, both set up by Randy Jones (formerly of Saxquest). One is Pearl Gold, one Pearl Silver. The silver one is the most recent acquisition, about a year old, and probably the better horn erognomically because of improvements suggested by Randy Jones and acted on by the Borgani factory. It's Pearl Silver but unlacquered so has wonderful resonance. Most of my bandmates prefer the Pearl Silver, but somehow the Gold is just closer to what I hear.
I will be putting the Pearl Silver up for sale as soon as I can get some good pictures. Price will be 4000.

I'm after a new Alto, it's not too far away from where I live so I'm
going to pop down and have a look later in the month I think........
I've posted a Pearl Gold Borgani tenor on SOTW for 3000 - price negotiable. It's a three year old horn (or less) purchased new from Randy Jones of Tenor Madness. A bargain if you are looking for one of these.
