Hi there
My name is Paul and I'm an oldie, absolute beginner. For many years I used to play "air sax" (like air guitar) to Baker Street, Careless Whisper etc. I've now got a real sax and it's a whole lot better. However, as a beginner I still play a little air sax. My question is this - If you had to compile "The Greatest Air Sax Album in the World Ever" what tracks would you put on it?
Hoping to here from you

...I've now got a real sax and it's a whole lot better No kidding!
I've heard of air guitar but it's the first time I hear of air sax. It's a bit unusual I think and, I may be wrong but I beleive that there isn't that many sax players who "played" air saxophone before. Or to the very least, not many would admit such a thing. But hey, it's a form of expression like any other I guess, only I bet that you like it even beter now that you've got a real sax.

hey yeah! I thought our little band were the only people who did air saxophone. nice to know we're not alone  ...! yeah, I do the whole wailing-air-sax solos against lots of tracks ... can't think of the best ones offhand though, but try a couple Tower of Power (like the sax solo off Diggin' on James Brown -- good opportunity to do the rock-'n'-roll lean-back-sax-in-the-air thing 8))!
but I agree: a real sax totally kicks air sax butt ...

You know air quitar? When you look like your playing and jamming quitar/sax/what ever while listening to music containing solos for it, you are playing it "air". Same thing with air sax.
Quite hard to explain, I thought everybody knew what air quitar etc. is...

Think of Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future. He did it ALL the time. Pretend like you hold your "axe" and exaggerate the movements to the tune.
