My SML tenor has had the rocking thumb rest soldered to the body by the previous owner. I'm thinking about having it put back original. How does the original make contact with the body? Does anyone have any good pics of this? What does the end that makes contact with the body look like. Thanks

I don't like the rocking - - I like a thumbrest to stay still and support the horn. I'd send you a photo anyway but I seem to have sold the horn that had a rocking thumbrest.

I have to agree with Morgan, it is most unsettling to play. I have a cork block crammed under mine to keep it from moving. I would leave it soldered. I have considered soldering mine... my alto is silver plated and I do such a neat job soldering, it would never show. I just have not taken the time to do it. Leave well enough alone.

Does anyone know where I can get a neck thumbscrew for a Marigaux alto?

Do you guys mean the thumbrest for the left hand ??

My 26xxx Goldmedal tenor has a adjustable thumbrest for the left thumb it is adjustable by means of a screw it does not rock. The righthand one is fixed and looks pretty standard to me.
