Sax on the Web / SML (Strasser-Marigaux) / Rocking thumbrest

I was under the impression that all gold medal models (Sop, Alto, Tenor, bari) and all King Marigaux's have the rocking lt hand thumb rest based on the SML advertisement we've all read regarding their 22 enhancements.

However I was just looking at a picture of a Gold Medal alto on ebay and the thumb rest looks like my Rev D...a simple pearl button thumb rest.

Assuming what I saw was correct, when did this feature go away?

My REV. D, SN 12.000 , has the rocking thumbrest. I thought all Rev.Ds did.

According to saxpics, the arbitrary diff between Rev C and D is the abscence of Mr. Lemaire's name. Rev C's have it, Rev D's don't. I don't know if there are any other 'morphological' differences.

To me, this is probably the least desirable feature of SML's. I keep the rocking left thumb rest of my alto corked to not rock. I am thinking of soldering it.
