Does anyone have any experience with a black laquer selmer sax? I'd like to know how this finish holds up with normal use (does it chip, fade, or peel)?

Got mine (tenor) last July, played it through workshops, concerts, and regular practice...no signs of wear yet. If you treat it well, and polish it often, the horn seems to stay very nice looking (course, it doesn't look as nice as it plays).

Owned one for a while. The black holds up very well. It is actually two extra coats of laquer which also gives a different tone color. The gold laquer on these horns actually give way before the black ever does! the black also hides scratches very well.
