Serie II cheapest, then Serie III then Ref 36 and 54 (last two same price). The first two come in a variety of finsishes, with or without engraving. The finish does affect the price a lot. The best thing is to look around under 'buying and selling' for some indication of price, and also to look at ebay, a lot of official and grey market sellers of new instruments operate there too. There is also much debate about the relative merits of these horns across the threads here.

You can get a quick price check from USA Horn (www.USAHorn.com) by clicking on "Price Request" when viewing a horn. They have a seperate list for each horn size (sop, alto, tenor, bari). You'll get an e-mail almost immediately. Prices vary widely depending on the dealer, how much setup work they invest, type of case, etc.
They had one of the best prices when I bought my III and gave me a good deal on an upgrade to a Walt Johnson case.
Recommendations? Don't buy a model by price - each of the tenors you cited is very different. You might love one, merely appreciate another, and find that you really don't care for the rest.

In that case you are looking at a new Serie II imported from a european online dealer or a grey market seller like USA Horn or Selmersaxman. Don't worry, its a great horn and many like it better than the III anyway. The Yanagisawa T991 is better still in my view and is likely to cost you slightly less than the selmer.

I only paid 4k for my Ref 54 from a local music store, after I asked them to match ww and bw's price. (the ref 54 and 36 are the most expensive sax that Selmer makes) My guess is that you could easily get a regular lacquered Series III for close to 3k. My sax teacher liked the Series III the best out of all 4 of the current production Selmer tenors.

Used Serie III tenors are going in the $2000-2500 range.

My two cents - try a Serie II. The best of the "new" Selmers in my opinion - I have both the II and the III. II's my favorite.
