Keilwerth Saxophones / 860 for Superba 1 ??

Hey guys I just won a Couf Superba 1 on ebay for 860. Is this a really good price. I ask beacause I sold one I had about ten years ago for 1200. This one looks better than the one I sold. Did I do good?

Nef! Congrats! That is a great price! I play a Suberba One myself and i love it.

Are you talking alto or tenor? good price either way, better if it's a tenor.

Sorry. Alto. I used to have a tenor too. I love my SBA but I miss that tenor for the R&B stuff.

I bought one on eBay last summer for 960. I think its a lot of horn for the price. Congrats and enjoy.

I got a near mint one from e-bay a couple of years ago for about 1200 - GREAT HORN! There's a beautiful black lacquer alto on ebay now - wish I had the jack for that!

I saw that one and was going to bid 1000.00 but then I saw a 1926 keilwerth and bid on it instead. I think the Gods were with you on this one. DON'T let it go this time.

I actually didn't expect to win this. I just told my wife and she is very mad.She's not so mad that I bought an alto but that I didn't talk to her first.I always bid low on things on ebay on impulse and never win them.I figure I might get lucky. I never tell her all the stuff I bid on because I figure I won't win it why the big heated discussion about how I don't need this or that. Oh well.

Ditto your domestic experience. A couple weeks ago I was at a music store across town to try some used soprano mouthpieces. While there I fell in love with a Guardala NY tenor in black nickel; it just felt perfect in my hands and it had the sound I adore (unlike my Cannonball). I called my wife on the phone and told her about the instrument and asked her what she thought. Surprisingly, she told me to negotiate with the guy. Well, I did and now I own it. But she hasn't let me forget it since then. Oh, well, at least I have the sax.

Glad you are back with a Couf! I'm enjoying mine more and more everyday. I never have to worry about volume, and the sound is always huge. I'll be back in Boston this Tuesday-Sunday, so drop me a line if you want to hang out.

Yeah I got the Couf alto. I'm tempted by jjgold's tenor in marketplace.I miss that tenor. That would be cool to hang. My family is coming into town so I don't know if it's possible. I'll let you know.
