Did Buffet ever make copper Prestige tenors or sopranos? Anyone have one to sell or trade?

They did. I don't know when production stopped, but I suspect the final year is 1985, within a year or two plus or minus.

Pete has pics of a soprano on his site, www.saxpics.com. Somewhere on this PC I have a picture of a tenor that was for sale by a shop near Berlin a few months ago. I nearly bought it. To extend your question, I've never heard of an S3/Prestige bari.

There have been one or two examples of each on ebay in the last 18 months or so, and if you do a careful web search you can VERY occasionally find them in European dealers' used inventory.

How long before you get your alto?

Well, i wasn't able to actually buy the alto from Stephan. In his purchase contract he asked for a credit card number so i thought i was buying the horn with that, but then he said he needed a money order and could not accept credit cards. The price was ok, but i didn't have that much cash available to send to Europe. So, i had to pass and bought a Prestige here in the states.

That sounds odd.

Anyway, where did you find one over there? A new one or an older one?

I seem to remember seeing a Pretige tenor being advertised not too long ago
