Does anyone have any experience with any of the Nick Brignola mouthpieces?

I have one for my bari ad it projects rather well...the jury is still out over if it's going to end up being my main piece...

I tried his 'Ron Cuber' model and it stunk for me. No wonder Cuber sent them back.

BTW, I didn'y buy mine new...I got it used from Saxquest. I tried a number of MP's with Mark listening and the Sugal piece won hands down. And that was before we even talked price.

Curt,
Did Nick actually use this mouthpiece? If so, what recordings did he use this set up with.
A fellow that was a friend of Nick I just got off the phone with said that his Keilworth Low Bb bari was really special...

I had a Super GS I. Terrible mouthpiece...a total dud. Very happily got rid of it.

Thanks for the feedback on the Super GS I. I'm using a Soloist C* for concert band work, and really like the smooth, rich sound. Do you have a mouthpiece recommendation for jazz band that's still smooth, but has an edge when needed? I play a low A MKVI in the 170,000 range. Thanks!

just so you all know; I saw nick brignola perform and talked with him during the set break and so here is what special means when it refers to his keilwerth horn.
it was black nickle plated with rolled tone holes
it was a new low Bb bari which is rare anyways
it also had wooden finger buttons because he felt that they gripped better than pearls.
I saw it and it was truly a special horn

I've heard the JK tone holes are actually soldered on rings.

I swear by my RPC .125. I had this particular mpc tweaked by Jon Van Wie, and I have yet to play an equal. For me, it has been flexible enough for groups ranging from jazz combos to big bands to even Tower of Power-style groups. I play on a Yani 991, but have tried the mpc on Mark VI's, and find that it works well.
Check out www.saxmpc.com for purchasing info. Ron Coelho (the designer/maker) is a great guy...very easy to work with. Just tell him what you need.
You also might want to check out a HR Berg Larsen. This are also quite good.
Best of Luck to you.

Keilmer - Sorry for the delayed response. The fellow, who is a smokin' bari player in his own right, didn't specify what "special" meant. I think he was just stating that it was a horn that played exceptionally well, compared to other Bb Keilworths. You figure Nick probably had his pick of the litter when it came to picking out his personal sax. Plus, as JMarshall stated, there may have been some personalized things done too.
