Am now a member of the SATB club having acquired a nice new Yani B901 at a fantastic price from Matthews in Holland. Haven't stopped smiling since....

I hear ya. I just got my 992 bronze bari about 3 weeks ago and first alto player said, "If you ever want to sell that thing let me know I'll buy it."
It's anazing how fast and light the action is on these yani. baris. I played a few Selmer S80 II baris. and the action was soooo slow and slugish. And these yani. baris are very lightwieght compared to other baris also.
Hope you have fun!

Actually, I first tried an Elkhart (in the UK, this is Selmer's Taiwanes student range) and aside from a slightly poor finish, this was also an amazing horn which played so easily. My Yani is obviously an intermediate horn - the action is fast and the intonation good - but if I was earning a living with it, I would probably want something built tougher. Still, there was a budget limit and I feel I have got good value!

How was Mathews to deal with? A friend is planning to buy a T901 and is considering them or saxophoonwinkle.

They were excellent. I have bought from them once before; I was unhappy with my first purchase was unsatisfactory (a Keilwerth tenor - manufacturing issue) - they took it back and refunded me without a murmur. Ask for a competitive quote - both my purchases have been at considerably less than their advertised prices, which are already very low. The other firm you mention is also well-regarded, though I have not used them myself. I think Yani may have been clearing some stock as a lot of retailers have had some good deals recently; your friend can't go wrong, I have never heard a bad word about Yanigasawa quality or consistency.
