Anyone know if Conn is making a decent bari these days? I am looking into a new 82m I believe.

Conn is only a shadow of its former glory. These days they make student model horns. I would imagine the 82m would fall into that category.

I don't know what the 82m costs, but you could probably find a "real" Conn, such as a Chu or a 12M for the same price and have a much better horn.

Run! Run to quality. The Chu or 12M will be a much better horn for the same, or less, money.

There's a bumper crop of Conn baris on eBay right now. I have never seen this many listed at one time. A few are pre-1920 horns without high F. And then there's a beautiful silverplate Conn Chu. I'm drooling out of both sides of my mouth on that one.

That Chu looks awfully good. The price is right up there too. Toss ya for it.....ah, it's yours, I'm all out of money.

Sorry Bootman, I'm in the same boat. Right now I'm trying to scrape up the money to get my current Chu bair restored. Guess I'm going to have to toss this one up, too. Hope someone grabs it before it hits the ground!

That Chu was up on ebay a couple weeks ago, if I'm not mistaken. Reserve = Buy it Now price. Probably fair enough but I'd think that's more of a dealer price, whatever the market will bear I guess...

That's the horn that convinced me to buy my The Martin :)
