Oddly, I don't see a thread about this horn here. I thought it was a popular horn. Is it not popular among you guys or is it universally agreed upon that the 62 is the best bari sax on the market? Hehe. What are your thoughts?
I special ordered a silverplated YBS-62 last September and it has yet to come in. I can't wait to finally get my hands on it.

The 52 may be more popular since it percieved as a better value. The 52 ($1700) played as good as the 62 ($2300) when I was buying in 1984. So I saved $600 and have really enjoyed the 52. Now the difference is more like $1000, not including silver plate. Depends on how you look at the difference. If you divide it by the life of the horn horn so far, it would have cost me less than $40/year to get the 62.

I recently purchased a 61 low a. It is a super bari - smooth, fast, modern keywork - a different feel altogether from my 12M. Responsive from top to bottom with very good intonation throughout.

Mojo, does your horn have 3 octave vents? If so how does it help? Muchos.

The 52/62s have 3 vents. One upper and 2 lower linked to open/close together. The lower ones are about 1.25" apart. I think they improve clarity and response of the D2-G2 region. Some claim they crack their G2 on Yamahas, but I have no problems.
