The Legere baritone saxophone reed is now available. I bought two to try out, in strengths of 3.5 and 4.

For me, the reeds run about 1/4 -- 1/2 strength size weaker than a Vandoren. They play easily. The tone does not buzz, but lacks richness. Altissimo is difficult. I will play these reeds only for practice and some rehearsals.

I'm curious how others like these reeds.

Hi. Just curious if you are Kenneth Carroll's brother. He's my saxophone instructor.

Robert, i'm wondering if you have changed your opinion on these reeds after some time. I went the other way. As you know, at the Houlik workshop i performed on the Legere reeds and loved it. But then the novelty wore off and the reality of good cane came back.

Steve, I've had same experience on alto. I played a Legere on a Jean-Marie Londiex matserclass back in March but a few weeks later I returned to cane, but good cane. A la Classique Alenxander.
