I have a problem.
I have been using the same altissimo fingerings for years and now from G concert up (on tenor)
Every note is almost a half step flat
Any suggestions?

More info. Have you changed equipment or embouchure? Using a new tuner? The Rascher fingerings are flat on modern horns, especially baris. Get the book by Bob Luckey.

Your neck may need to be cleaned out. (the one on your sax!)

saxdude the quickest fix is to fix altissimo pitch is to increase your reed strenght by at least 1/2 strength. Always try to fix it the easiest way before you try and do major work on your horn like restructuring your neck!

Right on!!! I agree with Ashtray, go up in reed strength.. It's so far out!! "King"

I am a Jazz vocalist and I agree with Ashtray and King; I can offer another suggestion, use a lot of air support and correct posture. When you pick up a new axe, your body needs to get used to the airway passages. Also, have a great attitude and hang on for the ride!!!!! Peace and Love!

There is a guy in Memphis Stan Johnson who sells these card stock charts that can be used as book markers. They have great altissimo tips and fingerings. He also sells a card called Windjammer that offers all of the fake fingers or fingers pros like Bird used to faciliate speed. I found out about them several years ago through the saxophone Journal. They really have work for me! His address is 695 Dickinson St Memphis Tennessee and the cards sell for $2.50 plus 1.00 shipping. They are called altissimo guides and are available for all saxophones!
