I am looking for some sort of jazz camp/retreat type thing that's just for the weekend here in Seattle, Washington State or another state nearby. I know of the jazz camp that Earshot Jass puts on for a whole week in July but I was hoping for something th t's just 2 or 3 days at most. Please let me know if you know of anything like this. I have not had the time to have a good look round yet but I'm sure I will find it very interesting. Many years ago I heard a saxophone track on the classic Pink Floyd album 'Dark Side of the Moon' -I was enraptured and then more recently a friend introduced me to jazz and I have loved saxophone ever since. HI, there. I am an alto sax player. I've been playing for two and a half year now and i'm trying to improve as much as I can. One thing I found most interesting is to download .mid files from the net, edit them in cakewalk and jam with the band. Its really good. I l ke also the play-a-long series of Jamey Aebersold. Very good for practicing. Now, my site and your site seem to be intrinsically related. I have selected some good midi files to be practiced with, and have added some tips for solo. I am still improving it, specially I want to improve the tips section and to print together with the midi files, the chords, so anyone could jam with directly with the files. Anyway, we could make a banner exchange, if you like. I could insert your banner in my site and viceversa, what do you think? I play a 1971 Selmer Mark VI Tenor. I had it replated in about 1988. I play with several bands and am the only horn player in all of them. I feel lucky to be playing since almost everything is guitar and keyboard nowadays.

I'm also an old SML tenor sax player. Knew I had a great horn at the time, just didn't know it was THAT good! I love to read about SML, as it definitely seems to be a very small fraternity of SML afficionados. They are great saxophones, and I wish I ha mine back (still can't believe I gave it aaway to an aspiring sax player!). Oh, well.
